Suffragan Bishop Stephen Hamilton is a dynamic teacher, preacher and leader of Spirit & Life Ministries, Inc. (SLM) and Suffragan Bishop over Region 3 of the Central California District Council.

 

Born in 1963, baptized in 1969, and filled with the Holy Ghost at the ripe young age of 11, Suffragan Bishop Hamilton not only comes from a family dedicated to worshiping the Lord, but he has dedicated his life to it.  In 1987, Suffragan Bishop Hamilton began attending Aenon Bible College, began preaching in 1986, was ordained in 1990, became pastor in 1991, became District Elder in 2015 and was elevated to Suffragan Bishop in 2016. Since being called to the ministry, he has dedicated his life to empowering individuals, organizations, and a growing multicultural congregation towards changing the world. His ministry of reconciliation has inspired men, women and young people nationwide for decades.

This anointed leader delivers the Word of God with power, simplicity, and humor that intensifies the relevancy of his message to the everyday person. In 2006, Suffragan Bishop Hamilton established the Spirit & Life Institute, a full-service institution that converges practical life experiences with faith-based teaching to develop well-rounded Christians that live in abundance...now! In 2014, he established a second location, Spirit & Life Ministries (Palmdale). Unfortunately, this location closed in 2020 due to the global Covid19 Pandemic.

 

Determined to share the Word of God with as many as he could reach, in 2018 Suffragan Bishop Hamilton established a weekly Facebook Live Bible Study where he ministers every Thursday evening to a growing audience of hundreds from around the world. From this weekly broadcast was born “Steve Hamilton Ministries”, which allows him to spread the gospel beyond the four walls of a church building.

Additionally in 2018, Bishop Hamilton's diligence and dedication to the gospel and well-being of the faith community, led him to partner with the Louisville Grant Institute in their mental health project entitled, "Hospitality Towards People With Mental Illness In The Church: A Cross-Cultural Qualitative Study." Under this program, he works with a variety faith-based leaders and organizations to better understand how mental health is addressed in the faith-based community in an effort to effect a positive change.

 

A friend to all from government officials, power brokers, and celebrities to the blue-collar worker, college student and stay-at-home parent, Suffragan Bishop Hamilton moves amongst society while connecting the gospel of Jesus Christ and its practical implementation to maximize the daily living experience.

 

Based in the San Fernando Valley, Suffragan Bishop Hamilton is a frequent guest preacher, teacher, and speaker at churches across the country. He has also appeared in various shows, documentaries, and networks, such as BET (Black Entertainment Television) and TV One.

 

Suffragan Bishop Hamilton has received numerous awards and commendations from an array of government officials, including but not limited to, Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, Los Angeles Councilman Tony Cardenas, California State Senator Alex Padilla, former Los Angeles Police Department Chief Bernard Parks, and U.S. Councilwoman Maxine Waters, and many others that have recognized his diligent work in the ministry. Under his leadership, Spirit & Life Ministries was also awarded the Steve Harvey Morning Show's "Hoodie Award*" for "Best Church in Los Angeles".

A resident of the East Valley since childhood, Suffragan Bishop Hamilton shares his life with his beautiful wife, First Lady Carla Hamilton, and their son and daughter.
